Basic Equipment | Lineage 2 GOD

If you’ve just started in Lineage 2 GOD or feel like your character isn’t performing as it should, the problem is almost never the weapon.

The real power spike in early game comes from understanding what basic equipment you need and which systems you should invest in first.

In this guide, I’m going to show you the minimum you need to improve your damage and survivability, both in PvE and PvP, without relying on impossible gear or months of farming.

This is your real starting point to stop struggling… and start performing.

RADIANT CIRCLET

Circlet-of-Power

The Circle is a special equipment item that works as an additional gear slot for your character.

It doesn’t replace any traditional slot like weapon or armor, but instead adds an extra layer of stats, making it a direct source of damage or survivability.

Additionally, it is one of the items that can receive augment, making it even more important in character progression.

RADIANT CIRCLET

HOW IT WORKS

The Circle provides base stats depending on its type and can be improved through:

  • Augment (the most important)
  • In some versions, enchant or upgrade

But what really makes it stand out is that it allows you to add very strong offensive or defensive properties, especially related to:

  • Skill damage
  • Damage reduction
  • Resistance to negative effects

TYPES OF CIRCLE

There are three main versions, each oriented to a type of character.

WIZARD CIRCLE

Designed for magic classes.

  • Improves magic damage
  • Skill-focused
  • Burst synergy

When to use it

If your character relies on magic skills, this is the mandatory option.

WARRIOR CIRCLE

Designed for physical classes.

  • Improves physical damage
  • Enhances skill performance
  • Better scaling in sustained DPS

When to use it

For fighters, daggers, archers, or any class that depends on physical damage.

KNIGHT CIRCLE

Defensive version.

What it provides

  • Damage reduction
  • Higher survivability
  • Better overall resistance

When to use it

For tanks, supports, or healers that need to survive longer in PvP or PvE.

WHAT REALLY MATTERS

The Circle does not stand out because of its base stats.

It stands out because of this:

The augment you apply to it.

That’s where it becomes a key piece of your character.

The Radiant Circlet is the evolved version of the class authority circlet. The L2Wiki database itself states that the enchanted noble circlet can be upgraded into its Radiant version, and that Radiant Circlets still use Blessed Scroll: Enchant Circlet.

HOW TO OBTAIN IT

The general path is:

  1. Get your class circlet.
  2. Enchant it to the required level.
  3. Take it to the Head Blacksmith in any town.
  4. Convert it into Radiant using the required material. L2Wiki shows the classic route of circlet +5 + Crystal of Dawn → Radiant Circlet, although later references mention Radiant Circlet Upgrade Stone, indicating changes in some patches.

HOW TO UPGRADE IT

There’s a key point many players misunderstand.

There isn’t just one upgrade, there are two:

First upgrade: convert the normal circlet into Radiant
Second upgrade: continue enchanting it afterward

Additionally, according to current L2Wiki data, further progression may require a +10 circlet for higher evolution, not just +5. That means the system has multiple important breakpoints.

WHAT IT ACTUALLY PROVIDES

This is not a cosmetic slot.

It’s a serious stat piece, and since it can be augmented in multiple versions listed by L2Wiki, it becomes much more valuable than it seems at first glance.

GVR TIP

If you’re low on resources, your goal shouldn’t be to over-enchant the circlet immediately.

Your first real objective is reaching Radiant.

After that, you decide whether further enchant is worth it compared to shirt, belt, or slot systems.

RULER’S AUTHORITY BELT

Ruler’s Authority is an important progression belt. The L2Wiki base entry lists it as Lv. 1 and describes it as an item awarded to the winner of the Ceremony of Chaos in the Mysterious Tavern.

RULER’S AUTHORITY BELT l2

How to obtain it

This is where one of the areas where the versions change the most begins.

The classic description links it to the Ceremony of Chaos, but L2Wiki also shows that the belt appears in other later sources, such as events, rewards, and item lists, and there are derivative versions like Ruler’s Authority – Chaos. This makes it clear that in more recent patches and in some environments, it is no longer exclusively a “chaos reward,” but also part of event economies or alternative progression systems.

How to upgrade it

Depending on the patch, the belt may exist as a base belt, a tiered belt, or special versions. The Ruler’s Authority – Chaos stat sheet shows a belt with very aggressive stats, including Max HP/MP/CP +3%, weight limit +25,600, damage +12%, and received damage -14%, demonstrating that this belt family scales as a very impactful slot.

What it actually provides

Here’s the important point: the belt isn’t usually strong because of a single stat, but because it combines several stats. In terms of performance per slot, it’s often one of the most cost-effective pieces to upgrade once you already have a decent gear base. That part is a tactical inference based on its listed effects and how it’s prioritized in player guides.

GVR Tip

If your server offers this line through events, shops, or trades, don’t ignore it. Many people get obsessed with flashier pieces and overlook a slot that delivers incredible real-world performance.

NEVIT’S CLOAK

Nevit’s Cloak of Light is a temporary cloak. The L2Wiki entry lists it as 30-day, with P. Def. 100, M. Def. 80, and automatic destruction at the end of its time.

How to obtain it

  • Packs
  • Store
  • Events
nevits cloak l2

How to upgrade it

It doesn’t have a real upgrade path.

It is temporary (30 days).

What it actually provides

  • Basic stats
  • Fills cloak slot early

GVR Tip

Use it. Don’t build your progression around it.

DRAGON RIND LEATHER SHIRT

Dragon Rind Leather Shirt es una de las piezas más importantes del slot underwear. L2Wiki la lista como ropa interior con P. Def. 62 y M. Def. 31, y además especifica que usa Blessed Scroll: Enchant Dragon Leather Shirt.

DRAGON RIND LEATHER SHIRT

How to obtain it

  • Get Dragon Leather Shirt
  • Enchant to +5
  • Upgrade with Crystal of Dawn

How to upgrade it

It is enhanced through a combination of specific enchantment and NPC upgrades. Furthermore, the existence of official +5 Dragon Rind Leather Shirt and +10 Dragon Rind Leather Shirt bundles confirms that this piece’s enchantment is a core part of the system, not a minor detail.

What it actually provides

This is a very significant upgrade slot. It’s not a cosmetic upgrade or a minor luxury. In real-world progression, the shirt usually feels much more substantial than people expect for a single piece. This part is a tactical recommendation based on its existence as a specific upgrade line and its typical importance in player builds.

GVR Tip

If you want a piece with real impact, the Dragon Rind Leather Shirt is high on the list. The problem is the cost, not the usefulness.

JEWELS AND BROOCH

The jewel system relies on brooches. The official L2Wiki article for the main game states that brooches unlock between 2 and 6 jewel slots depending on their level, and also grant their own bonuses.

Classic progression flow: Brooch Lv. 1 to Lv. 5, two brooches of the same level to attempt to level up, and if you fail, one is destroyed and the other remains. It also details that jewels are leveled up in the same way: two identical jewels to attempt the next level.

JEWELS Y BROOCH l2

How it works

The Brooch Lv. 1 was purchased for 200 L-Coin, and the Reinforced Jewel Box for 600 L-Coin; the enabled jewels will depend on the server, the basic ones are Amber, Opal, Coral, Onyx, Spinel, Zircon and Moonstone.

How to obtain it

  • Brooch Lv.1 → 200 L-Coins
  • Jewels from boxes/events

How to upgrade it

  • 2 brooch → upgrade
  • 2 jewels → upgrade

What it actually provides

This is one of the systems with the best return on investment in the game, primarily because it doesn’t depend on a single piece, but rather on the number of slots you open and the level of the jewels you manage to insert. The statement about “return” is a tactical inference; the factual reality is that the system scales based on both slots and jewels.

GVR Tip

Slots first, then level.
Upgrading a pretty jewel with a measly brooch is poor resource management.

TALISMAN AND BRACELET

What is a Talisman

Talismans are items that grant passive bonuses and, in some cases, active abilities to the character.

They don’t work on their own.

It depends.

talisman l2

What is a Bracelet

The Bracelet is the foundation of the system.

  • It defines the number of available slots.
  • At certain levels, it also grants its own stats.
  • It is upgraded through levels (compounding or equivalent system).

Without the Bracelet, there is no Talisman.
Without slots, the system cannot function.

How it works

  • Lv. 1:1 slot
  • Lv. 2: 2 slots
  • Lv. 3: 3 slots
  • Lv. 4: 4 slots + attributes
  • Lv. 5: 5 slots + more attributes
  • Lv. 6: 6 slots + more attributes

How to obtain it

Talisman Bracelet Lv. 1 costs 200 L-Coin. There are many types of talismans, which can be obtained from boxes or through Game Assistant, at a cost in adena.

How to Upgrade

The bracelet is upgraded the same way as the brooch: two of the same level to try and upgrade. If you fail, one is destroyed and the other remains. The guide also specifies that Aden, Eva, and Speed could be enchanted up to +10, and that if the enchant failed, the talisman was lost; in addition, Venir’s Talisman was upgraded with fragments and, if it failed, could revert to level 1.

Main Talismans

Talisman of Aden

  • Damage increase
  • PvE/PvP

Talisman of Eva

  • Defense
  • Survivability

Talisman of Speed

  • Movement speed

Venir’s Talisman

  • Scaling stats

Talisman of Insanity

  • High damage / risk

Talisman of Seven Signs

  • General bonuses

Talisman of Authority

  • Hybrid stats

Talisman of Protection

  • Damage reduction

What they actually provide

It’s not a minor supplementary system. As soon as the bracelet starts opening enough slots and granting its own attributes, it becomes a central part of your character. This tactical conclusion is supported by the bracelet’s own scaling of slots and stats.

GVR Tip

Do not make the mistake of having good talismans with a weak bracelet.
The base system is what matters.

AGATHION AND BRACELET

Agathion

Agathion is an equipment system that works through charms (summons) that provide passive stats and, in some cases, additional effects.

It’s not just for show.

It’s a real stat system that directly impacts your performance.

AGATHION Y BRACELET l2

AGATHION AND BRACELET

The Agathion Bracelet is the foundation of the system.

  • It defines how many Agathions you can equip.
  • At a certain level, it adds its own stats.
  • It is upgraded through levels (compounding or equivalent system).

Without the bracelet, there are no Agathions.
Without slots, there are no real upgrades.

AGATHION Y BRACELET l2

How it works

  1. Equip the Agathion Bracelet
  2. Unlock slots based on your level
  3. Insert Agathion Charms
  4. Each charm provides stats or effects

Progress comes from:

  • Upgrading the bracelet (more slots + stats)
  • Obtaining better Agathions

How to Level Up

  • Agathion Bracelet Lv. 1: 2 slots
  • Lv. 2: 3 slots
  • Lv. 3: 3 slots + STR/INT/CON/SPIRIT +1
  • Lv. 4: 4 slots + stats + resistances
  • Lv. 5: 5 slots + more stats and more resistances

How to Obtain

The Agathion Bracelet Lv. 1 was purchased from Game Assistant for 500,000 Adena. Use this as a reference, as the price may vary between servers.

How to Upgrade

It also uses compounding: two bracelets of the same level to try for a higher one; if you fail, one is destroyed and the other remains.

What it actually provides

Many people make mistakes here because they still see the Agathion as just a pretty pet. It’s actually a different system of slots, stats, and resistances. Once you reach mid- to high-level bracelets, it stops being decorative and becomes a real part of your character’s performance. This is a practical inference based on the bracelet’s listed stats.

GVR Tip

If you already have a basic set of gear, Agathion isn’t a waste of time. But it shouldn’t normally be prioritized over shirt, belt, or brooch/talisman slots. That’s tactical advice, not an official rule.

The “true value” table is my strategic prioritization, not an official game ranking. It’s based on each system’s upgrade structure and its typical impact on builds.

COMMON MISTAKES

Upgrading Jewels without opening slots
Mistake, because the brooch defines between 2 and 6 slots, and the system scales significantly based on capacity.

Not understanding that the bracelet controls talismans
Mistake, because without enough slots, the system is limited even if you have good pieces.

Underestimating Dragon Shirt
Mistake, because it’s a specific upgrade line with its own enchantment and real impact on progression.

Thinking that Agathion is cosmetic
Mistake, because the bracelet adds slots, stats, and resistances when leveled up.

What should I upgrade first if I have limited resources?

In practical terms, Dragon Shirt, belt, and brooch with slots usually give you the best overall return. That’s a tactical recommendation based on how those systems scale.

Is Nevit’s Cloak worth it?

Yes, it’s inexpensive and works well as a transitional piece. No, not as a long-term goal.

What’s more important, upgrading jewels or upgrading the brooch?

Upgrade the brooch first until you have a reasonable number of slots. After that, it makes sense to push specific jewels.
